LECTURE
Les mythes d’Orient. Architecture orientaliste en Europe

Leïla El-Wakil

27-28.4.23, Institut National du Patrimoine, Tunis

Leïla El-Wakil (University of Geneva) will give a lecture at the National Heritage Institute in Tunis on Orientalist Architecture in Europe. This lecture is part of the symposium “Criss-crossed imaginaries of neo-Moorish architecture,” organized by the eponymous research project’s team. The latter aims to improve access to Euro-Mediterranean architectural heritage by creating synergies between the fields of cultural heritage, contemporary art, and research, relying on digital tools. The project implements an inclusive approach, giving equal consideration to architectural history, the way people today perceive this heritage, and its artistic potential.
